To my own detriment, I sometimes engage with some questionable people on twitter. One of them without a doubt is Stefan Molyneux, a philosopher with a popular radio show who says some really toxic things almost daily. I should disclose that I used to enjoy his opinions on the inefficiencies of government, but something happened along the way, or maybe his true self finally revealed.
Dog whistling
I'm sure Stefan will never admit this, and that's ok. It's his actions and his focus that reveals a dark intent. Not that long ago, he started to make a ton of videos on Race and IQ and it was then, that I wrote him off as a serious thinker. More so because a lot of the "professionals" he started to bring on, where literally known bigots, who simply loaned themselves to further the narrative.
The truth is that he's used this whole "I'm all about the facts" attitude to shield himself from any accusation of racism, and it's worked. I know plenty of people who accept his opinions on the West, race and IQ as dogma and don't explore the veracity of any of the claims at all.
A while ago David Pakman did a short piece debunking Race and IQ, if you are interested on hearing some truth on this subject, but I would also recommend you double check all these sources yourself. It's a terrible habit we have of just trusting voices on the internet.
His common advice
Very often he advices his followers to focus on having families, on having children. The idea being that we are losing the west because westerners are dwindling in numbers. You see, according to Stefan the minorities are moving in, and this spells disaster for civilized society.
I can't begin to describe how idiotic and disgusting such ideas are, but he does tout them to a receptive audience that gobbles it up like sweet poisonous nectar. I will give him this much, he knows how to rally his troops and fear is a great tool for doing so.
Today however, he went off script for a second and I decided to probe the wasp nest:
You see, he never frames the idea of having a family, marrying young and being accomplished as advice for white women only. Why? well, because that would make him a racist, and even thought he obviously is, he can't really go there, no sir.
So, the framing is much more subtle and wholesome. Have a family, marry young... know true happiness - yes, this on it's own is actually benign, but if it's served with a side of the brown people are replacing us, then I don't know how "noble" it truly is. Do you see where I'm going with this?
Well, since I probed the hornet, and probably because he realized he had walked into an issue all on his own, he replied. His reply revealed his true agenda, and of course, he can't really back down from this one.
Yes, I took a little jab at the end there, but only to let him know I understand him quite clearly. The truth is that the comment section of that tweet of his, pretty much shows the amount of bigotry still present in the human race. A cesspool if I may be that bold, but it's also not surprising.
At any rate my friends, if you think racism is exaggerated, know that you are only half right. Yes, the word gets thrown around often, usually to block discussions, but at the same time, it's not something we overcame as a species, not yet. It still alive and well, sadly enough.
