Obligatory painting so this post has a picture(I did paint this though)
For this post I want to specifically reach out to my art peeps on Steem. I know a lot of you are a bit burned out and I know it's not really about the money with you lot.
It's about engagement.
So by now you've surely heard of Palnet.io, but I wanted to fill you in on why you should give this a shot as it's not just another Steem frontend. Things like the trending page are actually the things that are trending. It's not just a useless ads page there.
I'm hoping it will last but currently Palnet works the way Steemit is supposed to work. It's really because there is a much more even distribution and actions were taken(I won't get into them all) to address the abuse that stops Steemit and Steem based frontends from working the way they should. Currently it's working, but you all are missing from the party :( To answer some of the frequently asked questions...
You don't have to use the the Palnet.io site to post on it. You can use whatever frontend you like, you only need to use the #palnet hashtag. Doing this you're basically opting in to the PAL system and it's rewards.
You will be rewarded in Steem and PAL, so you lose nothing by posting on Palnet, only gain. Your content will also be more discoverable on Palnet as it's currently almost exclusively populated with engaged users. You can absolutely organically trend on Palnet, especially under the #art tag.
Palnet has it's own reward pool that has different math behind it. There is a 50/50 reward split between authors and curators, but your votes for Palnet and Steem are connected. You can't say, vote 100% on Palnet, but 50% on Steem. Whatever you vote on one is also reflected on the other.
There was a claimdrop that you have to actively claim to get some free PAL if you haven't already. If you stake(power up) this, then it will give value to your upvote, just like Steem and Steem Power. You can claim your tokens at https://steem-engine.com/, just sign in and go to your wallet. There is a blue button at the top left corner.
did a video tutorial here.
Those are the basics. There are a ton more posts that go into greater detail, but this is meant to be a quick read so you all can get back o making art.
Also full disclosure there is a financial incentive here too. Currently my PAL upvote is worth several times my Steem upvote, and with 50/50 curation, I stand to benifit more by curating all you wonderful peeps! So let me pay you! Get over to Palnet and start posting :D
