If you are a Nigerian, then i'm sure you would agree with me that sport betting is a very popular thing here in the part of the world. This ranges from betting on live football, to betting on virtuals such as running dogs and also spinning the wheel. I don't know how it is in other countries, but would sure like to know in the comment section how popular sport betting is in other part of the world as well.
A recent report brought it to my notice that a recent research data proved to us that a staggering amount of 730 Billion Naira (which is equivalent to $2,009,640,606.12) is spent annually on sports betting by Nigerians with a generated amount of two billion nairas (which is equivalent to $5,505,860.406) daily.
According to the research data, It was also brought into limelight that over 60 million Nigerian punters spend over N3,000 (which is equivalent to $8.3 in US Dollars) on a daily basis in placing bet stakes. The number of betting sites in Nigeria keeps growing every year with the number currently counting 50 betting sites across the country.
As a Nigerian, most of us including myself see sports betting as an easy source of income and as a result, we placed bets to generate quick money and also turn our passion for football and other sports into a monetary advantage.
