Last Sunday I was called to play for the Mass at my church. Their vocal and instrumental ensembles are on summer vacation so I get to show some nice organ sounds. For Prelude, Offertory and Communion I played some pieces from L'Organiste by Cesar Franck, a French Romantic composer and organist and for Postlude I improvised in a similar style.
Afterwards a couple of kids came up to see the organ from up close, so I made a short demonstration for them and let them play with their hands and feet. Hopefully they will appreciate pipe organ in the future as well.
It turns out I'll be playing next Sunday too so stay tuned...
