"Sail Away" is the second track I composed for my ongoing project "Moods and Modes". It features a flute and a cello engaged in a gentle roll, as if they where gently sailing away.
It's an exploration of the Eb minor pentatonic (the scale you got by playing only the black keys on the piano and gravitating on Eb). This song is the "sad" twin of the "happy" For the Joy (see https://steempeak.com/moodsandmodes/@skeeboo/for-the-joy-a-little-background-story). Both song make use of exactly the same notes; the change of mood is obtained just by changing the "key" note.
"Moods and Modes" is the project I started in 2018 in a short period of forced stop due to a convalescence (that rekindled my love for creating music after a 25 year long hiatus).
It's a collection of short instrumental tracks (not more than 2 minutes long), each one inspired by the mood of a different musical scale or mode.
The project is active and documented in my website: www.skeeboomusic.com and the first result was an EP fancifully named "Mood and Modes vol. I" that you can download from Bandcamp for the price you want (even for free).
