Hello again, in my post yeaterday about my hike on Horsethief Butte I forgot the craziest part. Let's go back to my map from yesterday with the flag marking the spot I was taking glam shots of some silver. Before I did that I walked around the butte and when I was on the south side of the hill (left side in the picture) I saw something that took me a minute to process. It was taking place in the red circle there. Let's zoom in...
As I came around the corner to this little indentation in the rock I noticed a wire that someone had stretched across the rocks, represented by the green line here.
At first I thought someone had installed a zipline but then I saw this!
That's right, some maniac was walking a wire, easily 200 feet above the ground.
See if you can spot him in this picture. It also shows both ends of the wire if you zoom in.
I tried to sit down and look out over the Columbia River but this guy behind me was stressing me out WAY too much.
Yes, he had a safety rope on but it was windy and I did not want to be anywhere near if this guy took a spill so I moved on to the other side to take some pics of Horsethief Lake and Mt Hood.
