Are people still appropriately dressed?
If you ask me it is a big no. I have been raised at a time that women did not wear a pair of trousers and jeans were a big no.
If you go to a wedding you wear a long dress and men a toxin.
Jeans are a big no!
And no, you do not look better if you wear jeans with a jacket. A tie does not mean you have dressed appropriately if it comes with a t-shirt and jeans.
With funerals, it is the same. People show up in whatever they are wearing. At the time I was raised it was a big no.
We had our daily dress/to school, an old outfit to play outside and each year (before Christmas or with our birthday) we a new outfit for church and festivities.
You simply do not go to church in your old outfit and on New Year's Eve, we were all dressed up. Yes, even if we stayed at home or at my granny's home. Men.in a suit and women (children too) in a long dress.
We were dressed up, our hair was done, jewelry and fine shoes. That was the way to show up at the dinner table, open the bottle of champagne, wish each other a happy New Year and... watch the firework.
