The following pictures were taken in December and today April 6th. I've joined them for ease of posting.
After 4 months of zero rain just about everything is suffering, The cows are skinny and plant life hibernating or growing very slowly. Bugs have all died off and the ants are getting aggressive in search of water and food.
Looking NE from our front porch
This plantain was harvested and the sprout taking its place is almost not visible with the leaves dry right now but can be viewed in this previous blog about our dogs grave site.
Here is our Yuka field with Nancy tree with Chicken Coop in the background way more visible in Summer
Lastly the Papaya tree NE from our porch that produced many fruit since then still has lots of fruit but are smaller this time of year.
Even the towns well is suffering and very few plants get watered by anyone these days to conserve water. That is just life here in our semi-desert area of Panama. A great place to live overall but a poor area to have a large garden.
