Since I was younger, than I am right now, I have always fantasize on how I would get a proposal. I have always dreamt of being proposed on a rooftop under the night sky surrounded by pretty little stars , or at the beach with that sea breeze, or maybe somewhere up high where we have that different shades of green mountain view as the background. But as I started getting older, which I am right now, I never really thought of getting that super awesome heart-melting breath-taking proposal. I actually just wanted to get married and have a child or maybe children. Specially with this pandemic going on, we can't really travel or go out without thinking twice if it is a good idea to dine out.
Last year (2020) was when lock down started. It was around the last week of March where we were under Enhanced Community Quarantine. The store I worked in closed, so we were all stuck at home pretty much scared on what was going to happen. I didn't get to see Carlo (the boyfriend) for months. We just talk on the phone like 80% of the time, funny coz we are just in one Barangay (District). He was then busy baking breads and I was busy uhmmm with sleeping, LOL.
April pass and it was getting okay, we can walk around and buy grocery as long as we are within our Barangay and we have our passes (that's one PASS per household). Then May, my birth month. I was happy to have lived another year and get to experience this pandemic (LOL). The boyfriend's parents told me that I can celebrate my birthday at their place and bring with me my family. I was very happy because I get to celebrate my birthday with the boyfriend and his family.
My birthday, we had some whole Lechon Baboy (Roasted Pig) and seafood ready. Carlo baked me a Chocolate Cake. It was simple but I was very happy I get to celebrate with my love ones. We talked and enjoyed the night.
It was late and my family went home. I was sleeping over for the weekend so I stayed. I was already in bed lying on my belly and playing Clash of Clans ( I just started playing again and got addicted) minding my own business and then he did a back-take and showed a jewelry box in front of me. I was so happy because if it is a jewelry box then there's a jewelry inside it, duh!. I opened it and saw an eternity ring inside, I was hesitant and confused because the usual gift I get from him and his family where earrings. So I asked him if it was what I think it was and he smiled. He didn't ask the usual question but instead he just asked "Is it a YES?", wow, just wow! But of course I said yes!, Even if he did not ask any questions, I would always say yes. I was lowkey crying and was so happy. I am going to be spending the rest of my life with this little guy (well, he's a few years younger).
So yeah! that was how I got engaged, through a "back-take proposal"! But hey, that back-take made me the most happiest woman on Earth!
PS.
The original ring was in the store safe (which was close) that time, so he gave me the eternity ring as proxy, LOL. So here's my engagement ring.
I am a happy child (I get to keep both).
