This fire hit a little too close to home...

Blossom Valley is the best flying site in So Cal. You can fly it almost every day of the year. Pilots from around the world call it "Awesome Blossom"

I was at work when the report came across my phone. I could see the smoke from all over San Diego County. It was tormenting.

On this little flying adventure we found a thermal to the top of lift and crossed over to the burned area. The issue is that all the trees that used to be on the ground are toast. I didn't feel like the flying was affected by the new terrain. I just talked to one of the locals who flew last week and he said that some of the green stuff has started to grow. Enjoy this video.
