There's something about the 6th day. The day when humankind was created. This is the first thing my wife bought for my son. I've never seen anything so small, let alone fit into those tiny feet of a newborn baby.
I still recall the sense of disbelief that we actually brought a person to the world. During the first year we kept asking each other "Can you believe that we're parents to a boy now?"
The baby has now grown into a monster, and he hates being called a baby. We consider ourselves extremely blessed to have such a wonderful kid. We've also picked up parenting along the way, with ample help from friends and good advice from people who've been there and done that.
We're expecting the next one to pop out anytime now. That's the reason my wife took out this cute pair of socks to wash. I can't believe it's no longer the 3 of us anymore, but our hearts definitely has space for more. My wife has been reminding me that we don't divide our love for our children but instead our love for them multiplies.
As John Wilmot aptly puts it - “Before I got married I had six theories about raising children; now, I have six children and no theories.” Nothing beats learning on the job I guess! :)
