I'm a little broke these days seeing as the MouseFairy obviously loves my house and visits quite often lately. The children have all been eagerly waiting for their teeth to fall out in order for this fairy-thing to visit and leave them money under the pillow in exchange for the teeth, but now we are not getting rid of the damn thing!
See, when we were little, it was called a tooth mouse. The tooth mouse would come during the night while we were asleep to take the tooth from your shoe beside your the bed. He supposedly builds a house with all the teeth he collects, leaves a few coins in your shoe and then off he goes. He must have a gigantic house already, but we never knew about a toothfairy.
What does the toothfairy do with teeth anyways???
So seeing as my own three children knows only about the toothfairy and I would not want the thing sprinkling them with dust and digging under their pillows, we've now combined the two. In our house, the MouseFairy collects teeth from shoes.
This little fairy is now becoming a pain in the butt!
With 3 children in the house, it feels like it's just never going to end!!! Just as we get rid of one tooth, the next child would say: "Feel my tooth, daddy!"
Bloody heck, another one!
Now, although many people have some issues with circulating this "lie", I do feel that this "lie" makes the process of pulling teeth go down a little smoother. They aren't so scared and gets excited to know that they will be rewarded for their bravery. We were also fed this "lie" as little children, and look": WE MADE IT without blaming our parents for being shitty parents. It wasn't traumatic to find out that the tooth mouse doesn't actually exist - I think deep down we all knew it wasn't real anyways, or at least, became suspicious...
What IS bothering me though, is the price of teeth these days. I haven't checked the charts but what is the current going rate these days???
This MouseFairy has got to go!
