My daughter and I spend some quality time at our town's Christmas Fair. We met neighbors and new friends, including what I think might be a snow-monster as well as a giant reindeer. The shops in the downtown section of Pasadena had all sorts of free samples and holiday activities going on--very festive
It was so much fun, and the perfect setting for a memorable daddy-daughter date. Such times are very important in parent-child bonding. I need them just as much as the kids need them. I'm so grateful for these times and I know my kids are as well. One of the highlights of the afternoon included meeting some Christmas carolers who sang an amazing four-part harmony rendition of Silent Night. To top it off these skilled singers were gloriously dressed in 18th century London garb. It was as if we stepped into a time machine.
Also memorable was the gingerbread cookie decorating station. We made some fancy designs with icing, sprinkles and other candies to adorn a gingerbread Star of David as well as the traditional gingerbread man.
A pleasant afternoon was needed this day, and that is exactly what we received, thanks to God!
