10K Steem Power Surpassed
There's now over 10K SP powered up in Crypticat's Steem account! Much of it was purchased and transferred here; the rest was earned the old fashioned way. The majority of my Steem Power is delegated out, mainly to the highest bidder. If you're looking for a decent return you have to treat this like a business and there is much more to Steem than just blogging.
What started out just for fun has become a minor obsession. Since Steem accumulates rather slowly, it's best to give yourself a liquid injection of Steem if you want to reach 10k SP anytime soon. Sure there are contests, games and sponsored content creation which can help you earn Steem but you have to factor in your time. Do what you enjoy the most in your freetime and earn the returns. I can work a few hours and buy hundreds of Steem pay so it's not really worth blogging on a topic I don't care about for a chance to win a small prize.
Delegating Steem for profit is the best way to earn Steem in a passive way. You can basically be a bank by lending it out to the highest bidder. You can pull the delegation at anytime so it's a safe way of doing business and can be quite profitable. My average delegation is paying over 20% APR😸 I literally just check the market periodically and lend to the highest bidder. You can also delegate to bots but I've mostly stopped doing this.
Selling votes is another way to earn Steem in a passive way but be careful, you don't want to sell votes to someone you disagree with or would downvote. I find many of the vote selling services don't care who they sell to. When I delegate and upvote I use discretion, checking the accounts to ensure I'm not supporting bad actors.
10k SP puts me at position 1440 according to https://steemitboard.com/ranking/?p=57&s=vests&hl=crypticat which still makes me feel like a small cat in a large forest. Don't know what my next SP target is but I do want to reach 1000 followers soon, so let me know if there is anyone out there worth becoming friends with 🐱
