Today is the last of 2018 and I've been thinking about the year, reflecting, prior to turning my energy one hundred percent to 2019 which will be here in about 12 and a half hours for me here in Australia.
It's been a reasonable year overall; We spent 6 weeks in the UK and EU, reunited with family there and met a new, and very special family member, . We had a few little additional trips here and there within Australia and have some solid plans laid for 2019. It wasn't all smooth-sailing though. My wife had some health issues, her mum is battling cancer and she also lost her partner and sister to cancer as well. Her mum hasn't had the best of years and that's affected ours also of course.
I have to say though, that despite some rough waters, we feel fortunate to have had a pretty decent year aided by our design and create ethos in respect of our lives. We apply it to most aspects, the controllable ones, with the intention to design and create our best lives. It doesn't always work however hoisting sails, putting ourselves in a position to catch the wind and move in the right direction means we are actively engaging with our lives and seeking our best version of it.
It's important to look back a little, to remember the good times and bad, to gather that history and apply any lessons learned to the future. It's also critical to not dwell on the past, you're not going that way.
Hopefully the people around me have had a great year to reflect on and have taken steps to carry that forward into 2019. We're looking forward to the new year and what it holds...Hopefully no bad shit although it's sometimes necessary to sail through bad weather. It makes us appreciate the good all that much more.
