John Adams once said that a Republic is for a moral and virtuous people. I often think nowadays that Law and Order are meant for a moral and virtuous people (more thoughts to come on this sentiment).
I also tend to think that Capitalism is meant for a moral and virtuous people too because the materialistic tendencies inherent with capitalism tend to grow out of control if morality is not present to guide its natural evolution.
