The Rough and Tough Jamaican
Here’s one rough and tough looking Jamaican, but appearances are not always as they seem. Never did catch this Jamaican’s name. His gig was selling reggae bracelets on the 7-mile beach. His total inventory at any one time was five, maybe six.
There eye-catching colors- the traditional Jamaican colors:
Yellow- for the sun
Green- for the vegetation
Red- for the blood
Black- for the people
He purchased them somewhere and then walked the Seven Mile, seeking
out tourists, and my guess tried to
double or triple his initial investment.
He started out high, but would bargain and accept an offer when granted.
This Jamaican has a rough appearance as you can see, but
was actually very gentle in his mannerisms and subtle approach. He approached me several times
on a daily basis and I was always
cordial. Greeting with RESPECT and leaving with RESPECT ✊.
My go-to guy on the beach is the
Brain Doctor. He’d make up bracelets and even reggae (Rasta) belts for you right there on the spot.
My thoughts, tough way to make a living, but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive in this world of ours.
Respect,
