A scientist, educationist and administrator, Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of ๐ฎ๐ณ India serving from 2002 until 2007. Born into a poor Muslim boatman, s family in Tamil Nadu, he studied physics and aerospace engineering and rose to become a driving force behind India, s space and missile programmes, and finally, president of ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ณ India
Kalam was born on October 15, 1931,in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu,. He studied physics and aerospace engineering at the Madras Institute of Technology. And after graduation ๐ in 1960, he joined the Aeronautical development establishment of the defence Research and development organization (DRDO) as a ๐ฌscientist. In 1969, kalam was transferred to the India๐ฎ๐ณ space research organizaN ( ISRO) . His years at the ISRO were very crucial. He was responsible for projects such a project Devil and project Valiant, which sought to develop ballistic missile from the technology of the successful SLV programme. A milestone was achieved when locally built Rohini-1 was launched into space using the SLV rocket. He then played a pivotal role in developing missile under the mission AGNI and PRITHVI..
From 1992 to 1999, kalam served as the chief Scientific advisor to the Prime Minister and the seceretory of defense research and development organizations. It was during this time that kalam took charge as the chief project coordinator for pokhrn II nuclear tests. After this he was fondly called the 'missile man of India๐ฎ๐ณ '
