These are quite a lot of freshwater fish available at Sabah. However most of the river are protected under the Tagal policy. These rivers are mantained and managed by the community. While these fish could only be harvest once a year, the committee entrusted to managed the particular portion of the river may allow limiteds fishing activities that generate income. It is popularily participated by tourist locally and abroad. These activities could supplement the income of the rural community.
