Empurau is a fresh fish native to Borneo. It is the most expensive edible freshwater fish in Malaysia which can reach as much as Rm2000 per kg. Its reputation for taste and texture reach all the way around the world. What makes this fish so expensive is its rare and they feed on special Engkabang fruit which found only on the island of Borneo. (Thanks to from Jom Tampak Cafe WA group for the picture)
