We arrived Yangon yesterday and it is the chief city of Myanmar. Generally the city is undergoing development. The people are friendly. Although we don’t speak any Burmese, we can communicate with quite a lot of them in English. It means that English is quite popular in this country.
My first cultural shock is while we were inside the taxi, it was eye-opening experience for me. Our driver is using a right-hand-drive vehicle, but he drives at the right side of the road. And the road is structured and designed for left-hand driving.
I found out this is not something unique for Myanmar traffic. In fact, the country has allowed both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive vehicles on the road. As long as they drive on the right side, and it is permissible.
Although the traffic seems confusing, we have to accommodate because the drivers are able to drive comfortably and skilfully.
