Pastor: Instead of beating up pastors who are doing the will of God, you ought to direct your criticisms at the political Left. They're the ones who are destroying all that is holy.
Abolitionist: Only because you are enabling them. The enemies of righteousness are able to progress only because they are allowed to by irresponsible watchers on the wall. In great measure the Left has only as much power as the Church, through silent non-resistance, concedes to them. Our greatest problem is spiritual. Therefore, the problem is not first with the Left, but with us, the Church. Politics is downstream from religion. If the religious fountainhead is poisoned, the cisterns from which the people drink will be deadly.
You and your peers, Pastor, are the managers of the fountainhead. You are the watchers on the wall. If you truly care about what is happening downstream, address the problem at the source. Awaken to righteousness; end the silence, apathy, and inaction on abortion; quit ignoring pornography in the pew and the parsonage, and humble yourself thoroughly under the mighty hand of God, that in due season He may exalt us, His Church, with a hearty willingness to bring forth fruits consistent with true repentance and godly zeal.
