I'm posting these photos for 2...or three reasons. In fact, I did and am posting them now, for two or three reasons.
First of all, I photographed this piece of cake (it's beautiful, isn't it 😃🍰) because it is a typical and very obvious example of how looks can be deceiving.
And I immediately think of the joke that an acquaintance recently made about her pet hedgehog - she saw a ladybug in her house and was sure that he would eat it, but you see, the ladybug, like a lady, and like any woman, managed to fool the hedgehog with her beautiful appearance and he did not eat her. 😃🐞💄👑
Well, logically, the reverse must be the case here - the cake must deceive me with its appearance in order to buy it. But not only that - its looks should make me want to eat it too. Because there's no use if I just buy it.
And here I see it in the refrigerated case at the pastry shop (which isn't the cheapest btw) with this super attractive strawberry on top (I love strawberries 🍓), the chocolate cover underneath isn't so promising, but the layers beneath are promising with this seemingly buttery cream etc. Not to mention the perfect combination of colors that catches the eye too, apart from everything else...
Well, I have to tell you that the taste was quite disappointing and the only really tasty thing about this piece of cake was the strawberry on top. Appearances here were extremely deceiving indeed. And very disappointing.
Wait, why am I showing you this frappe now? 🤔
Well yes, that is the second reason in this post. The frappe, at least for my compatriots, is an association with summer and the sea, I'm sure. Especially for those who are used to going on vacation in Greece. So right now, I'm trying to extend the already missing summer. And here's how - by showing pictures of it, symbolic or not. 😊
