For the Eastern folk, this is a rather peculiar day, the day of Jesus's betrayal, Holy Wednesday

Betrayal

The pain of betrayal
No eloquence can put it in words
Like a thousand knives
Striking every inch of the soul
Anger and shame,
Of trust given and shattered
Tears the soul apart in regret
Alone and lost,
Like the crashing waves
Hot tears flow from a river of pain

Broken promises
Sweet whispered lies
Endearing deceit
Chafing at trust
Little by little, the cracks appear
Tearing down the walls
Vulnerable and alone, my soul weeps
For trusting you
Can this wound heal?
Can this ache fade away?
Daily, I mourn the loss

Betrayal, a wound so deep
I count my tears in solitude
Unforgivable, my heart says
But a glint of hope
Longs for yesterday's memories
Choose tomorrow, it beckons
For a new beginning awaits.

My Analysis

Hive account@kemmyb tells the story of a person trying to heal from a betrayal.
Using eloquent wordplay, she describes the intense pain this person went through having his trust given thrown back to him.
The person wonders of the pain ever goes away, ever mourning the loss of trust once had.
Although the person has a new perspective, hoping for tomorrow as nothing can be done about the past.
Although you do remember the fun times before the betrayal, you look forward as future friendships awaits ✨

A beautiful poem to describe the pain felt on betrayal.
Probably the same pain Jesus felt on today many years ago.
A lovely poem for Holy Wednesday, if I do say so myself 😀
