We as a nation are all still in shock with the news that in the southern part of the Philippines, in Jolo specifically, there had been twin church bombings, both inside the church- while the mass was ongoing and again, another blasted outside the parking lot as the authorities responded to the incident.
First of all, what happened is an unspeakable act of violence. It was not just perpetrated in a sacred place but, the holy mass, which is the highest form of prayer we offer is ongoing. Yeah, there's the part that it was committed on Sunday.
The death toll is up to 25 and the injured, 77. Of course, I am not starting my own "mini" news center if that's what some of you think nor am I going to tell you guys to do this
But this was immediately released on the same day.

Which was very touching to me considering the events that day.
I can still remember what the spokesperson of the church from the south said in an interview I watched last night:
"We mourn the loss of these faithful people and both their Muslim and Christian friends will miss them."
Which had made me shed some more tears mainly because I am aware that whoever perpetrated it wishes to cause a great divide between these groups- this is no secret to anyone. Unfortunately, the opposite happened.
I don't know what will be the next "intallation" on this issue but it certainly will not escalate further as some might expect. Our shepherds, as they love to call themselves has spoken and we shall all heed. Not because of fear. Not because of anything else. Its just that by consciously deciding to move on, we may finally be able to take our first steps to be at peace once more.
