The first cryptocurrency friendly Terminal
Brisbane Airport will become soon the first Cryptocurrency Airport Terminal, according to the official website of BNE Airport.
BNE Airport is working with TravelbyBit and retailers to allows cryptocurrency payments into the terminal shopping, to become the first cryptocurrency friendly airport in the world, with cafès, restaurants and stores accepting Bitcoin.
What cryptocurrencies will be accepted by BNE Airport
Airport administration is working to accept also Ether and Dash and Steem (according to the official website of TravelbyBit) to purchase at stores such as The Botanist (Kitchen and Bar), Spoon (Cafè), Windmill & Co., and Forte Espresso, as well as nine stores including Australian Way, Carry On, Merino Collection, Dreamtime Journey.
The strategy under the partnership
Why an Airport should enabling crypto payments? The choice can make sense, cause Australia can taking advantage from China ban and the threats from South Korea. The General Manager of Strategic Planning and Developing, Real Hellemons, said:
“Many people around the world have made money investing in cryptocurrencies and a lot of these people travel internationally, so it makes sense to offer a digital currency experience within our terminals.”
Furthermore, partnership between Brisbane Airport and TravelbyBit aim to promote community projects, support local businesses to grow up, improve the passenger experience with new opportunities, and become a leader in the airport digital innovation space. Mr Hellemons also said:
