If you are looking for a little more freedom for your finances while traveling, prepaid cards may be a good option. In Argentina they are not as common as the banks give away when they call you home, so I'm going to tell you a little bit about what it's all about.
I'm going to point them easy: a prepaid card is one that to use it, you must load credit previously. Instead of debiting yourself, you first take credit and then use it. In short: more control over your expenses.
They can be used as a normal card, can pay in business, make purchases online or make withdrawals through ATMs. I use Payoneer from Mastercard, and so far I have been very well.
PAYONEER CARD
Some time ago, when I started with the preparations for my next trip, I was researching a little about this card. I read his recommendation on some traveler's page and decided to ask for it in time to be able to try it before leaving on a trip. I applied online and in fifteen days I had it in my house. I activated it from the website and could use it.
How much?
When you register for Payoneer, a US bank account is being opened in the name of the borrower. Technically, Payoneer is a prepaid debit card. Its maintenance has a cost of 29, 95 USD that are automatically discounted when the account has a minimum of USD 100, once a year. Paying for purchases / subscriptions online has no cost, but making cash withdrawals is quite expensive: $ 3.15, plus 1% of withdrawal + commission for the use of tellers that varies by bank.
How do I get it?
To acquire it, they must register on your page. If they register through someone who already has it, both parties receive USD 25. Therefore they will see invitations everywhere, like this one, mine, that if they want they can use in recognition for this post.

My travel experience:
Last month I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Brazil, and a few days before the trip I had gotten the card home. I activated it at the moment and for the doubts I tried it in a clothing business in the city where I live, in Buenos Aires. It worked perfectly.
I take it to Brazil, and I must say I use it for everything! I extracted real money in the bank without any problem, I use it in places of food, in bars, businesses of clothes and memories, in the kiosks to buy from a gum, to the charge of the cellular and the cigarettes. Up on the beach! To buy a Paraguayan hammock.
The good thing about Brazil, is that all the shops accept cards, both debit and credit. From the big supermarket chains, to the kiosks and street vendors that go along the coast. At the exchange, it is better to pay with it, than to buy dollars with Argentine pesos. And being an international card, we do not charge us the interest that Argentine cards charge us.
I hope you had the post useful. I recommend the card 100%. Since it was the best way I found to make use of the profits I had from contests and freelancers projects.
