Today morning when I woke up, the first news I read is about is the Iran war 2 weeks ceasefire and I was so happy. I could not believe so I checked on different news sources and all of them had the same information. After nearly 40 days there has been some kind of relief with this 2 weeks ceasefire agreement. Does this mean it's an end to the war? No, it's not, it all depends on the talks that will happen as planned on 11th April. The opening of the Strait of Hormuz is surely a positive impact on global energy markets.
All of this does feel like it's on a larger level but the effects of it do trickle down in our day to day life. I needed a Gas Cylinder for my home back in India and I had a big struggle for it. Since right now I am out of India, placing an order online became a challenge, I had to use all my contacts and finally managed to get one Gas cylinder after almost 2 weeks of follow ups. That too with a condition that the next one I will not be able to get in the same manner. I wanted to order some provisions from Amazon to stock up for 2 to 3 months as precaution, there also there were limits set. I could only order one cooking Oil can.
I wish that the meeting taking place on the 11th April comes out with some positive developments and a permanent end to the war situation. No one expected it would go on for so long. My nephew wants to travel from Canada to India in August. The middle east carriers are offering cheap tickets but he is skeptical to take or not, because in this war the middle east flights have been the most impacted. With the ceasefire and end all these uncertainties will also end and people will be once again able to travel confidently. Not only travel but all businesses are getting impacted. Our raw material stock we are not able to procure due to tensions, prices have hiked up and we are paying premium prices to get it from alternative sources.
While we common people outside of the war zone area do feel impact in many ways but the worst impact is on the people living in these zones. Day and night they are living in terror. Even when all of this ends no one can say who won or lost, because in the end it's all loss. A fight for a regime change which was expected to end in a day or 2 has gone over a month and yet it can go on. So it's only loss and loss for every one. Let's just hope that this temporary end will become permanent end.
