An interesting article in the telegraph that uk company pension defecit is now £549 billion pounds, add to that an article tonight that annuities are at a 15 year low with pensioners barely able to get by and it begs the question haven't they learnt yet that low interest rates and QE does not work? Most alarming key, where will it stop? At a trillion? When every company closes its scheme, when pensioners live on the street? 7 years ago they saved the banks, in a few years they will have to save everything, the banks, the pension companies and insurance companies. There used to be a plan, QE - stimulate growth, pay down debt, but the reality is QE, raise asset prices, don't reduce any debt, live beyond our means, growth not stimulated, zombie economy sustained by debt. There is no longer any plan, there is no strategy, it's not working and the pain will be extraordinary for so many when the day finally comes.
