Hi steemihandsome people! Let me take your hand, we're going to do
a little tour around my sister's homestead!
Last year, my sister bought a 5 acres land mostly covered by woods and located next to a river, with enough free land for her boyfriend's permaculture project.
At this time of the season, her boyfriend is making as many raised beds as possible to prepare the soil for the next season.
He put some cardboards on the soil to stifle the lawn, some maple branches, and a lot of hay.
Then, he's going to add in a mix of compost and biochar, and ramial wood chips on the top. It's going to form a great mulch full of carbon!
Look a this carbon pizza!
There is a ridiculous amount of tomatoes growing freely in the garden.
Those cherry tomatoes are the sweetest! It's so tasty and fresh. Each bite I take, it's like !kabloooey! on my tastebuds.
Here, some squash are taking expansion. Hadn't tasted them yet but they look pretty good. Not the leaves, though.
There are also 4 chickens at the homestead. And they make an amazing job cleaning the forest and blending the compost.
Nicole is the cutest, but I love all of them from the bottom of my heart.
I hope you enjoyed the little walk around the garden. Come back whenever! I'm going to post pictures of the forest and the river in the next article, so keep steemin' on close.
Love ;)
