Good evening, fellows!
Glad to see you are all fine and creative. I've found a relatively big number of old user on the platform and this cheers me up. But who am I?
I am @BogdanGe ( by the username I've used in the past). To be more specific, I am kind of "Steemit Joe" - A random creator and curator.
I'm saying that because I was a part of that wave of new accounts in july-august; someone who never wrote before on a blog, heard about Steemit and started to dream about his future, doing this for a living. Thinking about the posibilities (writing on Steemit from anywhere in the world, traveling around with a laptop and looking for an internet connection)
But, as you all know, this was bullshit. Of course I never managed to do that! After a short period of time, I started doing something else, leaving this platform behind (just for the record, I've finished my term as a Vice President in an international NGO and right now I've managed to get a position at Uber).
Why I've quit Steemit? Because I was an active user for the wrong reason. I got a bit too in to the money side rather than the writing side. Ok, I'm not feeling bad for that, it was something.
Right now, I don't know why, but I felt I need to get back to writing. I feel better without those 10.000 $ posts around and without all that urgent sense of posting. Right now, it seems more natural and I also feel like I'm doing this for the good of the community and for myself. Opening my laptop and write down some thoughts and ideas, following some old friends and checking out the work of others.
As you can see, this is an article about me and how I'm feeling right and I would like to state some impressions on how Steemit is looking to me at the moment:
- As I've stated before, quite a lot of old users are still active (upvote)
- A decrease in boobs and introduce myself posts (upvote)
- An increase in cooking articles (I can't say yet if I like it or not, but I'm sure the community is loving it)
- The users and the bots achieved peace (nice)
- The chinese and german communities are growing bigger and bigger
- I've discovered some new functions (promoted posts, the ability to decline payout, repost, etc) (upvote)
Of course a lot of others aspects are changed, I'm sure. As a new and growing platform, the evolution is pretty significant in a short amount of time. I'm curious to see what's gonna happen in the future.
The other aspect is Steem and its value. It has dropped... like really dropped (lol!). We already knew that in august, but is still surprising. Is important to state that this is a positive aspect. Right now everything here seems more real and written with pleasure. I'm glad. The value dropping is one of the best curation methods until now.
In conclusion, I've came here for the money, left, came back for the pleasure of blogging and it's nice to see how Steemit evolved in what is is right now.
I'm looking forward to any new updates and thoughts in the comments, maybe introduce me to events in the past.
Have a nice evening!
Regards,
BogdanGe
P.S: I'm at a Hub, just finished work and it happens that I'm looking at a fashion show which is happening outside
