Dear Steemit friends, I read a Taiwan news which I would like to share with you.
A female comic artist from Taiwan creates the poster and comic for delivering the knowledge of Rabies. Her comic and poster are used as world promotion resource of Rabies vaccination by Global Alliance for Rabies Control(GARC)
Most people don't know much about Rabies, her comic is a good source to learn Rabies in a easy way.
Comic artists don't have much opportunity in Taiwan. The publisher would like to buy copyright of comic books from Japan or Korea rather than support local comic artist because it's cheaper.
I am glad to see that Taiwan comic artist have the chance to find more possibilities.
親愛的Steemit朋友們，最近看到一則新聞，想要跟大家分享。
台灣一名正妹漫畫家所創作的「認識狂犬病大冒險」漫畫和中英文版海報，被世界狂犬病防疫中心(GARC)列入世界級宣導資源。
分享這個新聞一方面是因為一般人對有關狂犬病的知識普遍缺乏，一方面是因為漫畫家在台灣的生存空間越來越小，出版社基於成本考量，寧願去日本或韓國購買版權，也不願意支持本土漫畫家。
看到本土漫畫家在世界嶄露頭角，很替她高興。（當然，美女的顏值也讓這則新聞多了一點可看性，呵呵）
The artist is only 25 years old. She is taking her master degree of Manga in Kyoto Seika University. Her professore is a famous comic artist Mitsuru Sugaya whose most famous work is 「Kamen Rider Series」.
這位年僅25歲的漫畫家叫費詩懷，目前在日本精華大學攻讀漫畫碩士學歷，師承日本知名漫畫家菅谷充（Mitsuru Sugaya）。Mitsuru Sugaya最有名的代表作為「假面騎士」，相信喜歡日本動漫的同學很少不知道的。
Her father is the professore of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of Taiwan University. When her professore asked her to draw an educational comic, she decided to work with her father on Rabies vaccination.
當費詩懷收到指導教授給的教育漫畫的課題，馬上想到了在台大獸醫學系擔任教授的爸爸費昌勇，於是和爸爸合作完成了這部狂犬病宣導漫畫，不只是與台灣防疫局合作，同時也向世界狂犬病防疫中心投稿而得到如此殊榮。

The story is about a little boy named Noah who travel in Japan. He wants to share the ice cream with a dog affected by Rabies. Professor 「Dr. Fei」 stops him and teaches him the knowledge of Rabies.
Here are some tips:
❤️ The disease has a 100% mortality rate.
❤️ Every mammal is susceptible to Rabies including humans, not only infect canine. Rabies is transmitted when bitten or scratched by the infected host.
❤️ The cliical symptoms of Rabies: Salivating excessively, showing aggressive behavior attacking anything in sight, circling without a purpose, entering the paralysis state.(Even though at this stage, the dog is in coma the majority of time, but it is still aggressive and might bite.)
❤️ Most of the symptoms between Human and dog are similar. The only difference is human have symptom of Aquaphobia.
❤️ Rabies has been eradicated since 1961 in Taiwan. Up till now(2017), the only major carrier in Taiwan is ferret badger.
❤️ Double check if the destined country is rabies-epidemic before traveling. You can also get vaccinated before going abroad. However, if you're bitten, you still need a booster shot.
❤️ Unlike humans, once a dog is infected, shots can't save their lives anymore.
So remember to give rabies vaccination shots to your pets every year.
❤️ Many people die from Rabies disease in Asia, Taiwan still has the possibility to become epidemic of Tabies disease.
❤️ What if you are really bitten by a carrier animal, wash your hands with soap and clean the wounds. And then quilkly go to the doctor for vaccination shots. You would need to complet 5 booster shots within 28 days to prevent the disease from happening. You need to get vaccinated before the symptoms appear, once the onset of disease starts and symptoms start showing, You will die.
❤️ Don't abandon your pet!
If stray dogs become the source of infection, the spread will then be uncontrollable.
漫畫敘述一名小男生「書諾」到日本旅遊，在街上遇到狂犬病的狗，想要把手中的冰淇淋分給狗狗，卻被英雄博士「達克特費」一拳打回台灣，救了書諾一命。因此博士給書諾上了一課關於狂犬病的基本常識。
我幫大家整理一下其中的重點：
❤️ 狂犬病一旦發病，死亡率100%
❤️ 所有哺乳類都可能感染狂犬病，不只有狗才會感染，感染途徑是被感染的動物咬傷或抓傷。
❤️ 狂犬病的臨床症狀：口水多、嘴巴無法闔上舌頭外露、具有攻擊性、焦躁沒有目的繞圈、昏睡（昏睡狀態仍有攻擊性）。潛伏期的帶原者看不出症狀，看起來健康的狗仍然不可大意。
❤️ 人類與狗感染的症狀大致相同，但是人類會出現怕水的「恐水症狀」
❤️ 台灣從1961年起就沒有狗型狂犬病了，到2017年為止，台灣主要帶原動物只有鼬獾而已。
❤️ 出國前要先確認那個國家的狂犬病狀況，並要時可在出國前進行疫苗注射。萬一還是不小心被咬到時，要追加注射二次疫苗
❤️ 跟人不一樣的是，狗狗一旦感染狂犬病，即使打針也來不及了。
所以每年都要帶寵物去打狂犬病疫苗。
❤️ 雖然台灣的狗沒有狂犬病帶原，但是亞洲因為狂犬病死亡的人數很多，所以還是要事先預防。
❤️ 被帶原動物咬傷，首先用肥皂將傷口洗乾淨，立刻去急診注射疫苗，就醫後28天內完成5劑接種，才能預防發病。注射一定要在發病前，一旦發病就一定會死。
❤️ 不要棄養！
以免製造過多的流浪犬隻。99%狂犬病死亡病例都是經由狗感染的，流浪狗是感染狂犬病的最大感染源。
