These unusual stalks of flowers are found at the Denver Botanical Gardens in Colorado. They are in the “native” plant section and grow untended and wild. You cannot see it in the photo, but swarms of tiny flying bugs were very attracted to these stalks.
I think it is interesting that you can see all stages of growth on each stalk. They are still blooming on top while dying back at the bottom.
