This is a Butterfly Blue Pea flower grown in my home. This flower is purple in color and it disperses natural purple-blueish color when it is soaked or boiled in hot water for 5-10 minutes. The local people use the color as a natural color pigment for making kueh, a local desserts.
The flower is grown on a shrub and blossom every day. The flow has a lifespan of 24 hours to blossom and starts to dry up in another 24-48 hours. If not plug way from the plant, some of it will grow into long shape pea measured about 2-3 inches long.
It was reported that the purple color water is alkaline based and it was reported good for health when it is consummed into the human body. According to some study, the butterfly pea flower when soaking into hot water turn purple and it is called the "Butterfly Pea Tea" and if you drip a few drops of lemon juice into the tea, the color of the tea will chage slowly into pink which turn into acidic
Clitoria ternatea, commonly known as Asian pigeonwings,[1] bluebellvine, blue pea, butterfly pea, cordofan pea and Darwin pea,[2] is a plant species belonging to the Fabaceae family. The flowers of this vine were imagined to have the shape of human female genitals, hence the Latin name of the genus "Clitoria", from "clitoris". (Synonyms: Clitoris principissae.)

This is like the Mexican Petunia Flowers based on my google image search. I found this flower on a roadside of a housing area. This plant was like a shrub grown about 1.5 - 2 feet talk. There are plenty of green leaf long and narrow in shape. There are not many flowers in the plant at the time I snapped this photo.
This three-foot-tall evergreen shrub bears many tubular, blue or purple, petunia-like flowers on dark stems over a long period. Each flower lasts for just one day. It is a fast grower that may self-seed aggressively. Use in a border, container, or at waterside. Can be grown as an annual in cooler areas.
