This is my entry for the Rosesopenweekend hosted by a popular contest initiated by
and
"The Blush of a Rose."
My heart responds like the blush of a rose, to your look; a soft caress
With your tender words, my love it grows, I'm smitten I must confess.
But can I trust this heart of mine, when sorrow it knows so well?
Your offer, sincere. Will I decline? I simply cannot tell.
My heart says, "Yes," My head says, "No." My torment will not cease.
I long to stay; I need to go, from my anguish I need release.
I know I need to let go of the past, I'm bound by chains so strong.
My question is, Will our love last? Does my heart to you belong?
Your patience makes me want to trust, in all you say to me,
I relinquish fears, I know I must, in order to be set free.
You wait in silence for me to speak, and I hear myself propose,
For you encompass all I seek, and my heart overflows.
