Hello there, my name is Ana Marie L. Andales. My friends call me Datdat. I graduated my college degree in University of Mindanao. I am currently employed in the Department of Education. I am teaching Children with special needs for 8 years and now I am connected in the regular class teaching grade 5 for 6 years with the total experience of 14 years in my teaching career.
My experience as a Special education teacher was amazing. I am connected in the public school entering the school campus at 6:45 in the morning and leave it at 4:30 in the afternoon. I am handling a down syndrome class, and they are very lovable. They are very hugging me and make fun with our lesson. When I transferred to a regular class it makes me cry and they don’t go to school for a month. Down syndrome children really love their first teacher they are attach to them. When they are okey they kept on roaming around in the classroom and looked for me. They I often hide so that they do not see me and move on. When I enter the regular class, I am quite sad because my routine was also with my special children.
I am already on the 14 years in my teaching career, and I could say that teaching profession is not an easy task. You must be very flexible in the attitude of your pupils. You cannot compare other generation to another because it’s very big difference. Generation X, Y and Z are different upbringing. They have different interest and perspective in life. Me. As a guidance counselor in my master’s degree really make sure that I have shared my all knowledge and understanding with regards to giving my advice and supports to my students.
Teaching is a calling for me, not all who graduated education as their college degree go on teaching, if it is not a call for you then you will not pursue to look for a job related to it. Other education graduate fall on other job that they are happy working on it. It is very important that you love what you are doing. If you are not happy then what make sense to stay on that job, right?
I have six kids and one husband (of course, kidding) I have 5 sons and one baby girl. My husband works a security guard in the next city in our place. We seldom see each other that’s why we have our many children. (laughing) We have a big family compared to other, but we make sure that our children will be in school and we prepare finances for their education. We always emphasize that education is more important than others.
I am onboarded by AntonetteLanggamon. I join hive because I wanted to be in the community to explore more in the platform.
Thank you everyone,
