I remembered the question posed to Miss Philippines Maxine Medina at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant: "What is the most significant change you have seen in the world in the last 10 years?"
If I would be the one to answer this question – I think it really is the advent of social media. With just one click, your words can reach the ends of the earth. And with just one click, you can make or break one's life.
At first, yes. I must admit. I was hesitant to join Steemit. I knew it through my friend (who apparently enjoys
this site a lot! :)) My account was confirmed a month ago, until then, I was not sure whether I want to do it or not. I was worried that people will not listen to my views. And people will do not care.
As I review the site, I really got interested on how a community of tons of different individuals around the globe could relate to each other. I can really feel a sense of support and encouragement. I began reading posts and blogs on Steemit, even though my account wasn't that "Active" yet. I suddenly became excited on sharing my thoughts, crafts, adventures, and many more!
And to introduce myself..
I was named “Danielle” because my father's is Daniel. When I was young, I really hated my name because people always asked me why I am named after such, when obviously, I am a girl. (That time Danielle had not yet been used normally as a name of a girl in the Philippines.) I also hated it when people mispronounced my name. (They always say "Danyel" or "Danil" instead of "Deynyel" haha!
I have a lot of dreams in life. I want to become a lawyer, then a prosecutor if God allows me to! But really, my ultimate dream, is to become a mother. Yes, I love kids and I am always dreaming of having my own. I think it was because I had a lot of "Parenting" issues when I was young.
I am looking forward to a fruitful and fun exchange of opinions from this day onwards! Dear self, I congratulate you for finally having the guts to share about your life. :)
