Teleseryes has been a fundamental part of every Filipino viewer's heart. More than just a source of entertainment, soap operas have become our source of strength and inspiration. It has become a representation of our daily struggles in life and how we get up to continue fighting. Majority of our TV series were patterned on current issues facing our country and how we, Filipinos, are staying positive despite of all the hardships.
One of the most famous and maybe "overused" plots in Pinoy TV is the revenge-themed stories. It shows the protagonist enduring so much hardship caused by the evil acts of the villains. The most exciting part is when the protagonist gets up and avenge those people who have made his life miserable. Seeing the villains experience the taste of hell is such a delight for televiewers. That's why despite the negative comments regarding this overused theme, writers and directors just can't let go of this proven and tested formula for a hit Filipino TV Drama.
I've listed a few of the most memorable revenge-themed TV series that left a mark on the viewers. See if your favorites made it to the list.

Their story blossomed when love intervened. Unexpectedly, her long lost sister named Katrina was also in love with Gael and will do anything to have him. Things got more exciting when Ana becomes entwined in an assassination plan plotted by the Del Mundos and Ojedas. - Magkaribal
Another revenge-themed teleserye which gave this "overused" plot a new flavor by sprinkling a lot of elegance and luxury. Magkaribal is an interesting TV series about love, family and fashion. Viewers got a glimpse of our country's fashion industry through this series. Furthermore, it features the process of how fashion designers create their gowns and dresses and how much they prepare for fashion shows. The story revolves around the Ramirez siblings who were separated when they were young because of a series of unfortunate events. Years later, they met on the fabulous world of the fashion industry not as siblings but as rivals. This TV series boasts a powerful ensemble of the most brilliant actors in our country and received high ratings and several awards.
- Iisa Pa Lamang
The story was pretty much a common revenge-themed TV series. It revolves around Catherine Ramirez and her quest to avenge those who have wronged her. What made this drama special was its powerhouse cast which was mostly composed by award-winning actors. Furthermore, it became 2008's hottest and most talked about primetime drama. What made this show extra special and memorable up until now is its remarkable lines during the scenes of Katherine, the protagonist and Scarlet, the main antagonist. Who would forget their heated arguments such as...
Scarlet: Go to hell!
Katherine: See you there!
and...
Scarlet: Damn you!
Katherine: Same to you, anak.
Oops! Let's not forget the remarkable...
Scarlet: You're just a gold digger in red!
