The Map Is Not the Territory
🗺️🌐🌏🌍🌎
The mental and emotional experience you’re having is a story about reality, not reality itself. If you’d like to experience a different story, there are permission slips you can adopt and regularly practice which will give your subconscious permission to experience a different reality. It’s stories all the way down.
Your rational, logical, scientific mind is also a story. The idea that you (or me), a single instance of a human actually knows what’s going on is laughable. Sure, science is great and I’m super, SUPER thankful for reproducibility and predicting future patterns based on consistent previous ones, but (based on… science) we estimate that our solar system makes up only a tiny fraction of what is. How tiny? With some Grok help:
“So the Solar System (out to the inner Oort Cloud) occupies roughly 3.35 × 10⁻³² (or about 0.000000000000000000000000000000335) of the volume of the observable universe.”
And you? Well, dear egoic one who is so confident, you matter (as in, taking up space with your matter) even less:
“As a percentage:
≈ 1.96 × 10⁻⁸⁰ %
That is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000196 %
In practical terms: both numbers are so close to absolute zero that the difference barely registers on any human scale of thinking. The observable universe is so enormous that planets, solar systems, and individual biological organisms are all effectively zero-volume specks within it.”
You are a zero-volume speck.
And yet, you may feel infinity within you. Like a fractal that can go inward forever, the depth of your consciousness is not restrained by physical limitation.
So where do you go from there? Do you allow yourself some esoteric stories, some spiritual tales, some religion, some belief, some “make it all make sense” sauce you can poor over the experiences of your life? Is there a harm in doing so? Well, there’s always the trap of identity attachment such as “I’m a spiritual person.” Some suffering may come along with that and ground you fast like a malfunctioning plane. There’s also the rigid labels others will want to assign to you. No one is looking at the territory directly and maps are expensive to update. Far easier to use labels and save glucose and not have to engage with everyone as an infinitely deep unique consciousness.
And yet, that’s what we are.
I’ve been enjoying (is that the right word? I think I also enjoy sleeping in) waking up right at sunrise without an alarm. I have this little deal going on with the universe that if it wakes me up, I’ll drag myself out of bed and climb the ladder to the roof and watch the sunrise. 🌄 🌅
That may seem like a silly thing to do, and maybe it is, but if I tell a new story about it, if I create a permission slip around this map experience, maybe I’ll feel differently about the territory? Maybe I’ll download light codes and upgrade my 12-strand DNA as I join the collective shift from 3D to 5D…?
Or maybe it’s just a temporary sleep pattern.
Some people like Dr. Jack Kruze and others say watching the sunrise and sunset is amoung the most important things you can do for your health, possibly even more important that diet or expertise.
Stories all the way down.
So how do you decide what story, what map, you’re going to follow today? How do you let your intuitive intelligence, that thing we’ve made so small via our years of intellect training, have a voice without words? How do you keep yourself from identifying with the map as if it was actually the territory?
I don’t really know, but I am on a journey to find out. I’m not concerned with how “woo woo” it may seem. My map may get a little weird, for sure. That’s okay. If it creates better fruit of the spirit in my life, it’s a good thing.

Here’s a timelapse of the sunrise in Caguas, Puerto Rico this morning. I thought I was keeping the camera steady. Hehe.
