Watts Wednesday
Time for another Watts Wednesday. If you didn't know or you are new to my content, I've started making posts every Wednesday regarding speeches and quotes of different philosophers to commemorate their great work as well as give my view on the message that they are trying to convey.
If you enjoy this let me know since it is always a pleasure for me to do some research, assimilate and reflect on a piece of work and give you my view on the work of these great philosophers and carry on their legacy.
Alan Watts - We Are Not Separate
My Thoughts
I think for the duration of our life we are constrained and embedded with powerful invocations and incantations which stop us being unified as one body. We as society and humans pick out the differences in one another and belittle or magnify them with pride creating huge disparities.
However, it doesn't matter what background or creed you are from, we are all interdependent of each other and without one another we would be nothing. If we didn't acknowledge this it most definitely would lead to the end of humanity as we know it.
In true essence we all have some sort of symbiotic relationship with everyone, helping people to define each other without us even realising.
Without knowing the features and character of someone else you wouldn't know how to exemplify yourself and be given this state of being referred as 'I' or 'you'. One cannot exist without the other.
