'Happiness Is Within' Is Just A Throw Away Statement?
When individuals think or say the words 'happiness is within,' most are just giving it 'lip service.' For those people, it is only a nice hypothetical idea they use when it suits them, generally while advising others. They say it since it sounds good, and they, for the most part, just say it about themselves when things are going well. Barely any say and maintain it when things go amiss.
This repeating of these words, of this information, called 'knowledge,' is just parroting. Furthermore, similar to parrots, the words might be lovely; however, they are not intelligence. Nor are they living truth for you, it is only a thought.
Valuing Your Integrity
If you value integrity, then you won't parrot what isn't valid and real for you in your life. If you value integrity, that can take you far to unveiling what this life is about or how you came to be here, and what happens when the body drops. It can lead you to find the truth.
Maybe it was our hesitance to confront the unknown and to look for such truths that drove us, through fear, to acknowledge and parrot words and thoughts that are just temporarily comforting concepts in our lives. Like a parrot that will not quit, the start of the truth is there, right now, nagging for each to see what has always been obvious and present. It cannot be known while we have faith in and parrot false knowledge that does not help in your life.
While it's 'thoughts' are dead, the parrot is still alive. It is a magical, mysterious, delightful and colourful bird that is much more than the sounds it makes. In the same way, you are far more than mere sounds, that we call words. You are much more than just a mere a thought.
Look Internally
However, concepts can be useful, given that they are perceived as concepts and not acknowledged as the vague truth that you believe in, and not just repeated as thoughts. At that point, it is a deadlock.
So what should you do instead? Hold faith, and demonstrate it to yourself, with honesty. Stop. Turn away from the outside, move in the opposite direction of outer thought, need and fear, and turn within, without fail. Figure out how to use the seven powerful questions of Alchemy to turn your attention inward, altering your experience 'of' the 'outside.'
Make sure to use languishing for the only thing is it useful for, to wake you up out of unconsciousness and point you toward the joy within that never leaves you. Pain will remind you, and when in pain you don't have anything to lose.
