First, what we need to understand is what peace really is.
Peace has to do with a state of mental tranquility that each person has individually. This mental state has to do with the facts that surround the individual added to the circumstances that propitiate them.
We are going to give an example to Juan, who has as a first priority that his family have a roof to live on. But one day a disaster caused John's house to be completely destroyed.
The fact is one: The house was destroyed, but the circumstances are what can determine if Juan's mental tranquility will be affected or not affected by that.
If Juan's house was insured and he has a guarantee that his house will be restored immediately his peace will not be affected by the facts, but if his house is not insured or has funds for an immediate reconstruction, then in his mind there will only be distortion , sadness and anguish.
Then your state of tranquility depends on what your trust is placed on, so we relate peace with trust, where being at peace is synonymous with being confident.
Many think that peace is the end of war, but it is not so, many people are not at war but have a number of elements that rob them of peace, even people with money are the least peace. There are concerns related to health, work, money, mortgage, marital fidelity, and the list would be endless. Then how can we find true peace?
We find a character that offers a real and lasting peace: Jesus Christ, but there are details that we must analyze about that peace:
It is a peace that surpasses all understanding.
It is a peace different from what we normally find (in the world)
This peace not moved neither with the facts nor with the circumstances. I had already mentioned that peace and trust go hand in hand. For when you place your trust in God, it is as if, like the house of John (in the example), you assure your whole life. So no matter how many things happen in them, you know that the insurer is God and no matter what happens he will always restore you, if it is a whirlwind chasing you or if you sink in the middle of the sea, it is enough to know that God is God and always take care of you, then you will never lose your peace.
So, how do you find true peace?
TRUST IN GOD.
