The world is unweaving the threads that have been in place for centuries.
Once going to a Doctors office at 2:00 pm meant the waiting room was full of bored people waiting to see a doctor. Kids would be crying, TV's blaring, and that one person on their phone, yacking away loudly in their own bubble, not a care in the world, would all be there.
Yesterday I was hit with the silents that greeted me once my temperature was taken and mask firmly in place. The amount of eye contact with the few other people was zero. You could feel the fear of each person hoping you would not sit near them.
For my second time being out of my house in three months, it was eye-opening and creepy. The silence was deafening.
This evening when I woke up from a nap I noticed my husband riding off on his bicycle after a long day at work. What shook and surprised me was the fact that he had closed the garage door and locked our front door before he went off for his ride.
Being late in the day I called my Mom on Skype to make sure she was doing okay. While being 3/4th awake when talking with her I heard sounds off in the distance that were not normal. When I asked her to hold on while I go look out the window the sounds had stopped.
Not more than 4 minutes later the sounds of car horns blaring came back louder than ever. I told my mother that I needed to go find out what was happening.
Looking out the window I saw cars with horns going nonstop. People were walking while chanting and carrying signs in protest to world issues. I live on a quiet side street.
If protests can come to my sleepy little village they can come to yours.
I read afterward comments on a community FaceBook page for my tiny Village. Many people need their thinking unraveled a bit more. The protest was good and ended peacefully.
The unweaving needs to go further before a new era will take its place.
Scary times we are living in for most of us. Before you let it overwhelm you remember to take care of yourself too. Remember your friends are there to hold you up when things get rough. Telling silly jokes that have no meaning is also needed in this day and age.
There is nothing wrong with taking a mental break to laugh with friends about nothing.
The video above came to mind today.
It is well worth your time to watch.
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God's a coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
Guess it's time for the judgment day
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down, and start again
In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing
Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew, now man's reign is through
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight
So very far away, maybe it's only yesterday
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
