My thoughts
This growing adoption of subjectivity is why we have culture pulling itself apart. People used to live life "rowing in the same direction" as it were, but no longer.
One example, the relatively new move to normalize gender fluidity. The fight for women's equality was mostly universal, now with the trans movement, what it means to be female can now include biological men.
Now men can win Glamour's 2015 female of the year award, or athletic scholarships meant for biological female students. Falon Fox was a male MMA fighter who famously defeated a biological woman in the UFC, fracturing her skull in the process.
Either we all row in the same direction or our "boat" will spin in circles...
Objective truth is like a compass, leading us down the same path.
