Walking through my village is a lovely experience, but today was even better, as it was quite hot. In typical British style, everyone is complaining that it's too hot now! There is no gentle breeze, so I didn’t want to go too far. Therefore, my chosen walk today was downhill, starting at the edge of the village.
It wasn't long before I was back on the country lanes going uphill past a lovely cottage on the left.
I am now back on the flat, walking on the lane near the lake.
I walked by several gardens that were full of cheerful daisies and bluebells blooming in them.
In the winter, this part of the walk is very muddy as the cows congregate here. It is all dried up today and the cows are in another field. Thankfully.
It was at this point that I realised how many gates I've had to navigate through.
The rustic wooden structures are well-worn but sturdy, reminding me of the many walks taken by villagers before me.
I enjoy exercising every day because I’ve noticed that people in my village who are in their 80s and 90s all share one common thing and that's walking regularly. It's also good to spend time outdoors in the sun and countryside.
