One of the oldest streets in Kiev, the Ascension descent, miraculously survived an old wooden house, decorated with wooden carvings.
He wanted to demolish it back in the 80's, but the house that lived in it once was the scientist Ippolit Morgilevsky, all his life the scientist devoted to the study and salvation of the architecture of ancient Russia.
Decoration of the facade of the building in the wood was done by visiting carpenters from Russia at the beginning of the 20th century.
It was a profitable house, apartments in which were leased, the building belonged to the family of teachers Lonachevsky-Petrunyak.
