Hello again, I know I haven't posted in a long time about my collection but I think I will redeem myself with this one.
This is the mineral kyanite one of the, if not the most beautiful mineral I have.
It belongs to a group of silicate minerals with the chemical formula Al2SiO5.
What determines which mineral it becomes is pressure and temperature indicated in the table down below :
It's gorgeous blue colour gives it its name the ancient Greek word kyanos means dark blue.
Another interesting thing is that it has different hardness depending on the axis 4.5 to 5 and 6.5 to 7 on Mohs scale.
