Over the past few years, I've really fallen in love with Mile Lacs in Minnesota. The photo below brings back great memories of summer.
This is a massive 132-acre lake located right in the middle of Minnesota. If you pull up a Google Map, it sticks out lake a sore thumb.
Despite being only 1.5 hours north of Minneapolis, the lake is very peaceful and calm. The size of the lake only makes it fit for hearty boaters, canoers, and kayakers (like myself), since the lake can get extremely choppy at times.
Mile lacs offers the best fishing this side of the Canadian border, however. The walleye fishing is second to none, and other fish like smallmouth pass, pike, and musky are common, sometimes at near state record weights!
I hope you enjoy the photo and a little background about this wonderful lake.
