Have you ever participated in the PhotoChain Challenge? Oh how I wish someone would pick up from where the previous host left off and start a new one. I have been missing this Challenge since it ended, quite abruptly I might say so. But what is the PhotoChain Challenge all about, for those who do not know?
Well it's a photography contest that requires participants to enter a picture that contains two keywords or subjects determined at the start of each round. After posting the entry, each participant is required to nominate a personal Keyword which could be any object or color found in the picture they submitted. Every week there are 2 winners and their personal keyword will be the two keywords to be followed in the next Round.
A bit confusing? Let me give you guys an example. Let's presume that the two keywords for this week are:
CIRCLE by Winner 1
and
RING by Winner 2
As a participant I have to enter a photo that contains both CIRCLE and RING and then add a third keyword, my personal keyword, which could be anything found in my photo. I have a few photos in my archives to choose from. Here's the first.
Both the keywords are shown in the photo above. Circle is represented by the gemstone which is round and almost a perfect circle. Ring is the gold heart-shaped band. Now I have to add a personal keyword, anything found in the photo. For this one I can make GEM as my keyword. If I win, meaning my photo is chosen as one of two winners, then one of the keywords for the next round will be GEM.
Here's another one.
In the picture above someone is either putting in or taking out a cellphone from the handbag. The ring and circle can be both seen - the index finger has a ring on and the camera lenses and flashlight are all inside the circled area at the back of the cellphone. For this photo I can choose HANDBAG as my personal keyword.
There are a few more photos which I have and they all have both subjects or keywords in them.
The same ring as the very first photo above but with a different background. I can choose either YARN or GEM as my personal keyword.
How about this?
This time the ring is inside the box and there is a white circle at the left side of the photo which contains the material used in polishing gemstones. My personal keyword can be BEADS found in the rosary beside the ring.
Cool, isn't it?
Well I just wanted to do this post as I am terribly missing the creative challenge of the contest. I hope you enjoyed it. Perhaps, one day, the previous host can consider a return? Looking forward.
