In its journey to blossom,
the lotus flower grows through
mud, dirty pond water, and
generally unpleasant conditions—
yet it perseveres to bloom.
And like the lotus,
we too can grow
through the struggles
and dark times,
and we can rise
again and again
to shine from
that pure place
that exists
within each of us.

"Journey to Blossom"
My photo was taken on
the premises of
The Jewel Box
located in
Forest Park, St. Louis, MO.
The Jewel Box
(also known as the
St. Louis Floral Conservatory and the
City of St. Louis Floral Display House)
is a greenhouse that now serves as
a public horticultural facility
and is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places.
This beautiful location was the venue for
the wedding for the son of
my dearest and best friend Laura.
We have known each other
since we were seven-years-old.
More photos to come!
The Jewel Box will always
hold a special place in my heart,
being remembered as the place
I captured digital images of
coveted lotuses and lily pads...
This is my entry to
the derangedphotography contest
